Pride Month is here! And with that Inclusion at Work is back with another Live Panel Discussion that highlights queer voices and experiences.
This time we are looking at unpeeling the meaning of “queer gaze”. What is it? And how does it shift mainstream cultural narratives? How is the ‘queer gaze’ showing up in the Indian cultural context? Finally, can the spirit of the queer gaze be applied to make workplaces more diverse and inclusive?
Agenda:
➡️ To understand the meaning of Queer Gaze
➡️ To compare it with the dominant heterosexual male gaze
➡️ To reflect on the necessity of queer stories and visibility in mainstream spaces like social media, films, music, comedy etc.
➡️ To delineate the need for authentic representation in queer narratives
➡️ To explore the state and presence of queer narratives in the Indian cultural context
➡️ To dwell on individual examples in mainstream culture that represent the queer gaze
➡️ To investigate how the queer gaze can be adopted to workspaces
Date – 21st June (Saturday Afternoon)
Time – 3 – 4 pm approx.
Mode – Virtual [LinkedIn Live]
